Square announces Quantum Conundrum
Portal creator's next for PC, PSN, XBLA.
Quantum Conundrum, the new game from Portal co-creator Kim Swift, launches on PC, PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade in early 2012, publisher Square Enix has announced.
Developed at Dark Void studio Airtight Games, it's a three dimensional puzzle platformer in which you play as a kid left alone in their uncle's house/giant laboratory.
He's nowhere to be seen so, duly, it's your job to track him down by navigating your way through room after room of fiendish puzzles.
The core gameplay conceit is that you can switch between various different "dimensions" to alter a room's physics and help you on your way. Examples given include a "fluffy" dimension that makes objects lighter, allowing you to move them around, and a self-explanatory "slow motion" dimension.
Apparently there's about six hours of gameplay on offer.
