Square Enix announces date for its E3 digital showcase
Pre-recorded video presentation incoming.
Square Enix will be hosting a pre-recorded video showcase of upcoming games at this year's E3, on Monday June 11th.
The event, which promises to reveal "this year's exciting news and announcements", will begin at 6pm GMT, or 10am PDT for those that prefer to mark their calendars with American times.
At present, it's not entirely clear what format Square Enix's video will take; the publisher refers to the showcase as both a "presentation" and a "conference" on social media, but its E3 website suggests that "conference" might be a little grand, noting that there will be no physical venue for visitors to attend, and that the stream will be produced in advance.
Square Enix's last traditional E3 conference took place in 2015, and the publisher has hosted multi-day E3 livestreams showcasing its latest titles in the intervening years, so this pre-recorded video event would seem to bit of a departure.
There's no word yet on the games we can expect to see during the presentation, but the likes of Kingdom Hearts 3, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and The World Ends with You: Final Remix for Switch seem extremely likely. Beyond that, we'll hopefully receive news on Square Enix's relatively mysterious new Avengers game, and the previously teased Life is Strange 2.
Could there also be word on the highly anticipated Final Fantasy 7 Remake? Square Enix's E3 video showcase will be viewable on Twitch, YouTube, Mixr, and its own E3 website on Monday June 11th, should you wish to find out.
