Square Enix site teases E3 reveal
Future city, JFK, MMO?
Square Enix has posted a teaser website - with the words "mystery" in its URL and "NEW GAME" in its title - suggesting a big reveal from the Japanese publisher at E3.
That's according to IGN, anyway, which says that the Japanese press have been told that the game will appear in Los Angeles in a month's time.
The site shows a futuristic cityscape dominated by what appear to be gigantic radio towers. As gunfire and explosions break across the scene, a quote from US President John F. Kennedy appears: "The world is very different now. For man holds in his mortal hands the power to abolish all forms of human poverty and all forms of human life."
There's no indication at all on what form this game will take. However, it's been strongly rumoured that Square Enix will show its next-generation MMO at E3 this year.
If this is that game, the company's promise that it will be "very different" from Final Fantasy XI certainly looks like it will come true.
We'll be reporting direct from E3 from 1st to 4th June, so be sure to check back then for the details.
