Stargate Worlds dev sued for unpaid bills
Another blow for licensed MMO.
Ten Ton Hammer reports that Stargate Worlds developer Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment is being sued for not paying bills from a supplier.
IO Capital Princess, a data centre firm according to the report, is suing Cheyenne for an "unpaid open account".
Cheyenne last hit the headlines when a website appeared counting the days since some of its staff had last been paid. The site's still active, and now stands at 124 days and counting.
"Like many start ups, we face the same cash-flow issues that all pre-revenue companies face," Cheyenne said in a statement at the time. "We have maintained a core of dedicated investors, but the new economic realities are forcing us to seek out additional sources of funding and that's what we're doing."
Work on the PC MMO spin-off from the Stargate TV series and movie is still going ahead, according to the developer. You can read more about it at the Stargate Worlds gamepage.
