Super Mario Odyssey - Lake Lamode, Broodals over the Lake and how to beat Tall Broodal

How to complete the Lake Kingdom objective.

Lake Lamode, Broodals over the Lake and how to beat Tall Broodal are objectives you'll encounter a fair chunk of the way through Super Mario Odyssey, which follow on from Super Mario Odyssey - Deepest Underground and how to beat Knucklotec.

You'll find our full walkthrough for them here, whilst you can head back to our main Super Mario Odyssey guide, walkthrough and tips hub for plenty more on all aspects of the game!

Lake Lamode - Broodals over the Lake

Jump or swim across the lake to reach the platform with the flower bulb. Hit it with your cap to open it, then use it as a jump pad to reach the platform above. Follow the line of gold coins and throw Capy at the zip at the bottom of the wall. You can now open zip teeth with Zipper, turning that entire platform into a hole. Drop down the underwater hole to the bottom.

You will naturally sink, so you'll need to press 'B' repeatedly in order to rise. Do this to avoid the spikes at the bottom of this pit, then swim through the bubbles to replenish your oxygen. If this runs out, you'll start to lose health.

Turn left, then turn left again. Swimming around the moving reeds with eyes. Turn right, then throw your cap at one of the Cheep Cheeps swimming ahead of you.

You can now swim about at a faster speed, and stop worrying about drowning. You can press 'Y' to dive or 'B' to surface. Swim through the checkpoint (Underwater Entrance) and swim straight ahead towards the bubble-shaped building on the other side. Run across the checkpoint on the bottom floor (Water Plaza Entrance), then turn left and swim up through the opening.

On the second floor, run across to the other side and activate the next checkpoint (Water Plaza Display Window). Now jump back down and exit the bubble building. Swim up to the top and look out for a cylindrical tunnel going up out of the bubble.

There should be another round opening near this. Swim through, run around to the back of the glass tube and hit the P Switch to open the door.

Swim to the top to find yourself on the roof of the bubble building. On the far left-hand side you'll find a flower bulb and lots of mini Goombas. Hit the flower and jump on it to reach the platform in front of you.

Jump on the second flower jump pad (while avoiding the Goombas) to reach the boss platform. Run over the checkpoint (Water Plaza Terrace).

Tall Broodal

The Tall Broodal's basic attack is a razor-sharp hat. In the first phase he throws it in a straight line. Hit it with Capy to turn it into a flower jump pad. Jump on and float over so you land on the Broodal's head. He'll now start jumping around inside a larger hat. He's faster than you, so change direction before he lands on you to avoid him.

After a few bounces he reverts back to the original attack, only now he throws it sideways and it homes in on you. Once again, hit the hat with Capy and use it float down on the Broodal's head. He'll try jumping on you again after this. Repeat once more to claim his Multi Moon.

You're going to need eight Moons in total to move onto the next kingdom, so that's five more on top of the Multi Moon you just nabbed. Check out our Power Moon Guide for all the locations you need to meet this requirement.
