Super-sized phones won't work with Fallout 4 Pip-Boy replica
VATS annoying.
Super-sized smartphones, such as the iPhone 6 Plus, are too big for the wearable plastic Pip-Boy that comes with the £99.99 Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition.
Normal-sized phones slip inside the gigantic wristwatch/drainpipe of a device where they can load the Pip-Boy mobile app for total immersion (well, managing inventory, perks and holotapes).
"The Pip-Boy included will have foam inserts that fit iPhone 6, iPhone 5/5s, iPhone 4/4S, Samsung Galaxy 5, and Samsung Galaxy 4," clarified Bethesda on its blog. "In addition, using the customisable foam insert you should be able to fit most other popular smartphone devices.
"As we wanted to stay faithful to the dimensions of the in-game model, any smartphones larger than the models listed will not fit inside the wearable device. For these larger devices, our Pip-Boy companion app will still be available."
Look to your recycling box and to a roll of sticky tape instead.
The Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition is exclusive to GAME in the UK, and it's sold out. Bethesda managed to spread a little more stock across the US, but whether that will happen here remains to be seen.
