Take-Two hints at BioShock 3
Likely to coincide with the film.
Take-Two chairman Strauss Zelnick has hinted at a third BioShock game, even though the second one isn't even out until the end of next year.
Speaking to investors in a conference call followed by GameSpot, Zelnick used the fateful words "BioShock 3" in response to a question about the timing of the BioShock film, set to be directed by Pirates of the Caribbean's Gore Verbinski.
"It's unlikely that the picture would be released to coincide with BioShock 2," said Zelnick. "It would be more likely that it would be released coincidentally with BioShock 3. That also remains to be seen."
Never mind BioShock 3 though, we still don't know which platforms Take-Two is targeting with BioShock 2, which is in development at 2K Marin and expected in the August-to-October quarter of Take-Two's next financial year.
The original BioShock was recently announced for PS3 after a long period of Xbox 360 console exclusivity, and also came out on the PC. Whether the second and third games will expand to target all three audiences at once remains to be seen, but we wouldn't be, er, shocked.
