Tame the wild west with Kevin Costner's Tatanka Hunting Simulator 2013
Oh, give me a home where the buffalo roam...
Earlier this week I wrote about Surgeon Simulator 2013, a riveting byproduct of last weekend's Global Game Jam where the theme was "Heartbeat." Somehow Surgeon Simulator 2013 didn't take top honours, but that's only because the grand prize went to the spectacularly named Kevin Costner's Tatanka Hunting Simulator 2013.
Developed by the Warsaw-based Acid Wizard Studio, Kevin Costner's Tatanka Hunting Simulator 2013 puts you in the dusty cowboy boots of America's favourite has-been as he tames the wild west by leaping around on bison and feasting on their hearts (which I assume must be the source of his power).
At the end of each round you're rated on distance traveled and hearts eaten. You can also cash in your eaten hearts (best not to think about) for upgrades like an Ass of Steel that will allow you to bounce off the ground once, or a flying squirrel costume that will allow our noble Kevin to hover.
As it turns out, Costner is a huge fan of buffalo and even owns a Tatanka Interpretive site in Deadwood, South Dakota complete with a statue of 14 bison pursued by three Native American horseback riders. "Kevin Costner invities you to visit Tatanka," said the slogan on the official site (complete with the typo).
Now go forth and download Kevin Costner's Tatanka Hunting Simulator 2013 here.
