The Critical Path features loads of mini-interviews with your favourite game designers

Feature length documentary on the way.

The Critical Path is a series of very brief interviews with famous game creators on all manner of heady topics related to game design.

There's Clint Hocking discussing how games convey loss, Tim Schafer on the economy of writing being especially important in interactive media, and Hideo Kojima on placing messages about social issues in games. Regrettably, Kojima doesn't debate the economy of writing with Schafer. At least not yet.

The web interviews are just a start, though, as The Critical path is actually a multi-format "transmedia project exploring the art, philosophy, politics and psychology of video games" that will become a full-length documentary, as well as a mobile app.

Creator Artifact Studios' goal is to "give game designers their due as innovators and influencers of culture."

This project has been in the works for two years. Artifact Studios noted that user feedback will dictate the sort of content to come.

Check out the trailer below, or just go directly to the Critical Path site and check out some micro-interviews as they're even shorter than the trailer.
