The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim UK price roundup

Updated with today's confirmed prices.

Eurogamer's Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim review awarded 10/10 this afternoon. To coincide with this, we've collated the cheapest UK Skyrim shop deals.

Skyrim has a higher base RRP than most other games - £54.99. The effect on general Skyrim prices, however, is barely noticeable.

So where's cheapest?

Sainsbury's, in-store - although rival supermarkets Asda, Tesco and Morrisons are within £1 of Sainsbury's winning £36.99 deal. (The supermarket prices are now confirmed. Can't get through to Game, though.)

HMV has a competitive in-store price of £37.91, perhaps because it offers no trade-in deals for Skyrim. Not all games have trade-in deals, a spokesperson told Eurogamer, and Skyrim happens to be one of them.

Game, on the other hand, is offering trade-in deals. Swap either Batman: Arkham City, Battlefield 3, Uncharted 3 or Modern Warfare 3 and Skyrim will cost £4.99.

Online, the cheapest place to buy Skyrim on PC is TheGameCollection (£26.99); on PS3 is Simply Games (£36.85); and on Xbox 360 is Amazon (£37.91).

If you can't wait for delivery, Steam is selling Skyrim for £34.99.

Online auction house eBay is a mixed bag and probably not worth bothering with. Prices are lower in a number of shops below, and bidding doesn't end on the cheaper eBay listings for another 20 hours (at the time of writing). Consider that the item then has to be posted out, and you're better off using a proper outlet below.
