The Last of Us 2 - Downtown Seattle: All locations and map for the Sightseer Trophy
How to complete the Downtown Seattle area and find everything along the way.
Downtown Seattle is a chapter in The Last of Us 2.
Seattle is something new for The Last of Us - an semi-open world area with multiple locations to visit.
It's mostly formed of buildings and structures - some mandatory such as the Dome and Courthouse, and some optional - and exploring them all is recommended.
Not only good to help give you useful weapon upgrades and crafting materials, but finding each main area gives you the Sightseer Trophy.
This page explains how to reach all areas in Downtown Seattle and, once done, progress the story to the Serevena Hotel.

How to reach Downtown Seattle in The Last of Us 2
Once you have passed The Gate with Dina, you'll come down the street to the 'Fuck Fedra' Gate.
Go to the kiosk on your left and search the drawer inside for the FEDRA Census Document Artefact.
Now investigate the gate and attempt to put in a passcode. You'll notice there is no power. Follow the yellow cable to the generator behind and try and power it on. There's no gas. Looks like we have a few problems we need to solve.
Ellie will remove the Checkpoint Gate Codes Artefact note we found earlier, telling us where to find gas - at the Courthouse garage and the Dome.
From the East Gate 2, get on your horse and go past the left kiosk, leaping over the barbed wire and onward to the Downtown Seattle open area.
Downtown Seattle map and locations list for the Sightseer Trophy
Downtown Seattle is a semi-open area with two main objectives - finding the Courthouse and the Dome. However, there are many other areas to find, many of which are optional.
None of these will be represented on the map until you stumble upon them, find Artefacts or discover certain environmental clues.
Here is every Downtown Seattle location you need to visit for the Sightseer Trophy, and what they refer to:
- Fuck Fedra Gate (starting point)
- Dome
- Courthouse
- Westlake Bank
- Downtown Checkpoint
- Valiant Music Shop
- Gate West 2
- Ruston Coffee
- Barko's Pet Store
- Hollowed out building
- Collapsed freeway
It's worth knowing you can complete the mandatory areas - the Courthouse and the Dome - then do the optional locations. The point of no return is when you return back to the Fuck Fedra gate and reach the Serevena Hotel.
Though you can simply follow the map, our recommendation is to take your time to explore it naturally. Not only does this help you learn the layout a little better, but it's also a lot more enjoyable - this is a dense location but one designed to flow from one location to the next as you find Artefacts and converse with Dina.
Once you have visited every area, you will unlock the Sightseer Trophy. You don't have to fully explore them, from what we can tell - just get close enough to mark them on your map.
If you are fully exploring, know you have done everything at a location as Ellie will cross it off the map once you leave.
Easy-to-miss map locations in the open-world Downtown Seattle area
As well as the above locations attached to named locations, there are a couple you can easily miss with some Artefacts and other items.
Structure opposite the Dome
One of these is unnamed but marked on the map - a hollowed out structure directly opposite the Dome.
Climb the stairs and when you reach the dead end, throw a brick through the window.
Jump over and up the remaining set of stairs for a desk area with ammo, crafting materials and Supplements.
You can also find a Doctor Uckmann Trading Card.
Vehicle convoy
Another is the collapsed freeway section, which has a few locations worth exploring - some noted on the map, others not.
The most important is a convoy of armoured vehicles going north. These are referred to the various Artefacts you find elsewhere, and might be marked on the map depending on which ones you find.
To strike it off the map, you need to visit the furthest one north, partly submerged in water.
Open the back to find the Note to Informant Artefact and various crafting items inside.
There is another optional section of freeway worth visiting while you are here...
Optional locations exploring the open-world Downtown Seattle area
As well as the above map locations, there are a couple of others which, again, have some missable items and Artefacts.
Collapsed freeway fire truck
One is at the collapsed freeway. This is to the west of the Barko's Pet Store is a section of freeway with a fire truck on it.
You can reach this by jumping from the truck from the south.
The truck has an axe in the side, and a hose you can rappel from the edge.
This allows you to swing onto the collapsed section below, with the upturned truck, containing various crafting items and supplies.
For us, we got the Sightseer Trophy before visiting this location, so consider it an optional visit, and one not to worry about if you accidentally skip it.
Structure next to the bank
Another is just outside of the Westlake Bank location is the Cache Hunter Note Artefact inside a bag in a hollowed out structure.
Tank
Next, south of the Dome is a tank. Climb up and investigate inside for some ammo.
Then, search the bag near the corpse close by for the Letter from Issac Artefact.
Stairwell
Finally, south of the Courthouse is a set of stairs leading up, next to an alleyway.
At the top is some crafting materials and the WLF Community Supply Chest Note Artefact.
Once you are done with all of the above, including the two mandatory Dome and Courthouse locations, head back to the south-east of the location and back towards the Fuck Fedra gate and the Serevena Hotel.
