The Last Story, Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi's Wii-exclusive RPG, has topped the Japanese sales charts in its first week on shelves.

According to the latest Enterbrain figures, as reported by Andriasang, the Mistwalker/Nintendo collaboration moved a relatively healthy 115,000 copies to beat SEGA's PSP RPG Valkyria Chronicles 3 to the number one spot.

Whether that's enough to encourage Nintendo to bring the game to Europe and the US remains to be seen. Last month UK boss David Yarnton announced there were currently no plans to localise the game, explaining "It has to be viable".

Elsewhere in the charts, never-ever-leaving-Japan PSP curio My Little Sister Can't Be This Cute entered the chart at three, while the PlayStation 3 version of Dragon Age: Origins debuted at number six. The Xbox 360 version, meanwhile, just missed the top 10, entering at 11. The BioWare-developed RPG is being published by Spike in Japan.

Further down the chart, mildly disgraceful, much-publicised schoolgirl shooter Gal Gun scraped in at number 13.
