As with all of the other regions of The Witcher 3, Novigrad is stuffed to the brim with all manner of side quests and Contracts, sprinkled far and wide across the numerous settlements that make up this northern-most part of the world.

Below, you'll find every last scrap of content waiting to be hoovered up around town and beyond, broken down into the various areas from Oxenfurt to Novigrad town centre itself. We've also dedicated a separate section for each of the challenging Contract quests you can pick up around here.

A Barnful of Trouble and Empty Coop

A Barnful of Trouble

Head for Carsten - a small hamlet north-north-west of Oxenfurt, and south-west of the Vegelbud Residence - and you'll find a couple of peasants standing outside a barricaded barn. Talk to them, and then do that thing you do - show those four ghouls who's boss nice and fast.

Empty Coop

Head just east of Honeyfill Meadworks and look around for a rambling old woman. Offer to help her, and use your Witcher Senses to follow the tracks to their final destination. Speak to the children, then return to the old woman and suggest the children come and live with her.


Little Red and Novigrad Hospitality

Little Red

Head to Yantra, a small village between two lakes and to the north east of Novigrad. Around noon you'll see a bunch of villagers gathered at one end of the village having a meeting. Ask them what troubles them, then agree to help them with their bandit troubles.

Wait until dusk and Little Red will turn up. Talk to her, then decide if you want to take her on or leave her to it. If you attack, she turns into a werewolf, so be ready for a fight.

Novigrad Hopsitality

Head north-west out of Yantra and you'll run across a couple of chaps camping by the side of the road. Join them for a few drinks, then a few more, then keeping going until you wake up stripped of all your worldly possessions - whoops.

Head back to Yantra and use Witcher Senses to discover their - not very good - hiding place, recover your goods, and then maybe even humiliate them into the bargain.


Spooked Mare

On the mainland, due east of the top of the lower island of Oxenfurt, there's a solitary cottage. The peasant there has lost his horse. Accept the job and then use your Witcher Senses to follow the trail, which eventually reaches a small encampment.

You can either pay 100 Crowns to reclaim the horse at this point, use Axii to get it back, or fight everyone for it. Whichever option you go for, lead the horse back to its owner when you're done. You want the old grey one, ideally, but any horse you bring back will actually complete the quest.


Strangers in the Night

Head west out of Carsten, cross a small bridge and head north. You'll come across a small campsite with some people having a conversation. Join in, tell them your name, and then ask if there's any news. Suddenly the conversation turns to accusations, and someone's going to die - pick a side if you want, but either way you'll be rewarded with a diagram.


A Warm Welcome

On the road south-west of Wheatfield some refugees have run afoul of a patrol. You can either kill the guards, pay 100 Crowns, use Axii to persuade the patrol to let them through, or leave the refugees to sort it out themselves. If you provide help, you'll be given the location of a treasure trove near Downwarren.
