There's a mini Nintendo Direct today

Focused on games from other developers and publishers.

There's a new Nintendo Direct this afternoon, though it won't feature the Mario announcements you've been waiting for.

This Nintendo Direct mini - to be held today at 3pm UK time - will focus on a "small group of previously announced Nintendo Switch games" from Nintendo's "developer and publishing partners".

Nintendo has clearly attempted to set expectations as much as it can for today's stream - though of course, Nintendo fans are already getting a little excited.

It's been a long time since the last "proper" Nintendo Direct - something not helped by the current remote working conditions at Nintendo's offices in Japan.

Back in April, Eurogamer reported the company would delay its typical June E3 announcement show until later in the summer.

Nintendo fans are waiting to hear more on Nintendo's line-up of Mario games, which Eurogamer reported on back in March. These are being made due to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. in September.

We'll have today's news for you as it breaks.
