There's a new Fire Emblem coming to the 3DS this year
And a new Switch Fire Emblem coming in 2018.
The Nintendo 3DS is getting a surprise new Fire Emblem, with a remake of Fire Emblem Gaiden - the last Famicom entry in the series, and a game that never made its way out of Japan - coming out on May 19th in the UK.
Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is an expansive remake that brings the art-style of Awakening and Fates to the 1992 game while retaining its unique character, with the free-roaming open world map returning alongside branching class promotions. New animations from Studio Khara also feature, while the release will be accompanied by two new Amiibos featuring stars Celica and Alm.
Nintendo also used the occasion to announce that Fire Emblem would be coming to the Switch next year, with an as-yet untitled new game set to be the first series entry on home consoles since 2008's Radiant Dawn.
