These Final Fantasy 14 inspired bottles of wine are £80
But only if you're in Japan.
Square Enix is releasing £80 bottles of wine inspired by Final Fantasy 14.
Based upon the Final Fantasy 14 Endwalker's Reaper job class and sold in a fancy presentation box, the wine has been produced in partnership with The Prisoner Wine company in California. Sadly, the wine is seemingly only available via Square Enix's Japanese store.
A bottle costs ¥12,100, which converts to around £80 or $106 excluding shipping and tax, of course. Shipping is expected to commence from March 2022.
According to Siliconera's translation, it's thought unsold bottles will eventually pop up on the Square Enix store, but it's not clear if they'll be available to fans outside of Japan, and it looks like all preorders have now sold out.
ICYMI, Square Enix warned Final Fantasy 14 players that there would be long queues ahead of the Early Access period and release of new expansion Endwalker, having seen similar congestion earlier in the year due to a massive increase in its playerbase, many of whom will be jumping back in for Endwalker.
To compensate, Final Fantasy 14 producer and director, Naoki Yoshida, has promised to compensate players seven free days of game time following a weekend of disconnects and long queues, acknowledging it has been "the cause of many inconveniences to our players".
