Trials HD sells over a million
Everyone's delighted.
Xbox Live Arcade game Trials HD has sold over a million copies, Finnish creator RedLynx has announced.
RedLynx told us back in March that it had sold over one million pieces of "content" - over 825,000 copies of Trials HD at 1200 MSP (£10.20 / $14) a pop, and over 185,000 copies of the Big Pack DLC at 400 MSP (£3.40 / €4.65) apiece.
But this announcement relates to Trials HD only, and the "over a million" figure does not include sales of the Big Pack.
"Only a handful of downloadable console games have reached this plateau," said Tero Virtala, CEO of RedLynx.
"For a company of about thirty-five people, it's a significant achievement, and it validates our strategy of focusing on online and downloadable games that have the potential to evolve into long-term, successful game franchises."
Microsoft, obviously, was delighted.
"Congratulations to RedLynx for creating such a beloved, fun game that powerfully showcases the Arcade experience," Scott Austin, director of digitally distributed games at Microsoft, said.
"We look forward to bringing more Trials HD content to the Xbox Live community with the upcoming release of Big Thrills."
Big Thrills is the second expansion pack for the game, and is targeted for a Q4 release this year.
RedLynx is also making cartoon platform racer MotoHeroz for WiiWare, and has another secret project, but it won't say what.
