True Games reveals Faxion Online
Warrior Epic, Mytheon pub's internal MMO.
UTV True Games, the publisher of Warrior Epic and Mytheon, has revealed a new and internally developed MMO called Faxion Online.
This focuses on player versus player combat and "ground-breaking, competitive action that strips away the typical experience and leveling grind", according to the Faxion website.
The game's two factions - heaven and hell - will contest control of the game's three worlds: heaven, hell and limbo. And UTV promises to put an "an irreverent twist" on that "usually serious" setting.
As with most MMOs, there's to be oodles of character customisation through skills, abilities and progression paths.
Interestingly, UTV has hired veteran developers from PVP-oriented MMOs Shadowbane and Ultima Online (in its early form) to help.
"UTV True Games' goal for its first internally developed product, Faxion Online, was to build a team with experience and passion for PvP MMORPG games," said studio boss Frank Lucero.
"When I log-in to the game, it is increasingly evident that the team's experience with PvP and territorial control has paid off."
UTV True Games - formerly True Games Interactive - has preferred the free-to-play model in the past, but there's no word what Faxion's preference will be. A release date isn't mentioned.
UTV True Games has previously delivered Possibility Space's free-to-play MMO Warrior Epic, which scored 5/10 on Eurogamer. Petroglyph's free-to-play strategy MMO Mytheon is currently in open beta.
