Twitch battles non-gaming PS4 PlayRoom streams
"Non-gaming content is not allowed."
Video game streaming company Twitch spent the weekend taking down a number of non-gaming streams by PlayStation 4 users.
A number of lewd streams were canned, but some, according to users on Reddit, were removed following indecent comments in chat.
Twitch issued a number of tweets over the weekend reiterating its policy of not allowing non-gaming content.
"FYI: We continue to moderate according to our Terms of Service. Non-gaming content is not allowed," Twitch said.
"Non-gaming content (c): If using PS4 Playroom, the content must be about games or gaming and within our ToS. Thanks for understanding."
Then: "Discussing gaming is gaming content. There are numerous such channels on Twitch, such as One More Game."
Streaming via PlayRoom, the app that uses the PlayStation Camera in augmented reality games, hit the headlines last week after a husband and wife couple launched a PS4 call-in show.
It proved popular enough on Friday that Sony's Adam Boyes called in, saying: "We always just thought people would do streams. We never thought people would do them with PlayRoom."
