Ubisoft incentivising PC pre-orders of The Division 2 with a free game
Watch Dogs 2, Wildlands, or Far Cry Primal.
Ubisoft has revealed that it'll be incentivising digital pre-orders of The Division 2 on PC by offering a free game to eligible purchasers from a choice of three.
According to the terms of offer, which has been announced just shy of a month before The Division 2's release, PC players that pre-order a digital copy of the online shooter before March 14th can get the standard digital edition of either Watch Dogs 2, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands, or Far Cry Primal for free.
Currently, digital pre-orders of The Division 2 can be made via Ubisoft's store, its "distribution partners", and the Epic Games Store - the publisher notably opted to forego sales through Steam at launch, saying "Epic continues to disrupt the videogame industry, and their third party digital distribution model is the latest example, and something Ubisoft wants to support".
Those that pre-ordered the Division 2 digitally prior to the announcement are also eligible, says Ubisoft, and everyone has until March 31st to claim their game. Full details are available here.
If the dangling carrot of a free game isn't enough to convince you to roll up sleeves and hit the pre-order button on PC, Ubisoft will likely be hoping that its upcoming open beta will be. As announced yesterday, Xbox One, PS4, and PC players interested in experiencing The Division 2 prior to release will be able to participate in the open beta from March 1st to March 4th.
The Division 2 launches on all platforms on March 15th.
