UK charts: Mario & Sonic back in front

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic games has come back like Carl Lewis to take gold in the UK charts

This is its seventh top finish to date. It puts last week's star performer, Army of Two, at two.

Bully is at three, having swapped places with Brain Training - now in fourth place.

Stalking those two is consistent best-seller Call of Duty 4 at five, which looks set to benefit from a Game of the Year Edition in April.

There's a surge for Carnival: Funfair Games, climbing from 16 to six, while Guitar Hero III has thrashed its way from 20 to seven thanks to some strong retail promotion i.e. more posters in shops.

PES 2008 manages to gain a yard to get to eight, chased eagerly by rival FIFA 8 at 10.

In between the pair is Cooking Mama 2, relishing its first top 10 finish since launch.

Stylish and acclaimed Wii game No More Heroes only manages to debut at 18, which is one spot lower than disappointing newcomer Turning Point: Fall of Liberty at 17.

Elsewhere there are big improvements for Assassin's Creed, bounding from 39 to 22, while Lost Odyssey falls from 11 to 21, Lost: The Videogame from 10 to 25, Devil May Cry from 25 to 36, and Dynasty Warriors 6 from 19 to 34.

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune navigates its way back into the top 40 by landing at 33, which is nice.
