Uncharted 4 - Chapter 16: The Brothers Drake

Our walkthrough for this childhood flashback chapter of Uncharted 4, complete with treasure locations and optional conversations.

Another flashback now; we rejoin Nathan and Sam in the middle of the childhood escapade we began at the start of the game. Here's our walkthrough for Chapter 16 of Uncharted 4, including treasure locations and optional conversations.

Follow Sam to the small ornamental fountain, then head left up the slope and through the ivy-covered arch. Approach the small brick building and wait for him to pull you up, then jump across to the nearby roof and then back to the windowsill, head for the top, and climb through the open window.

  • Treasure: Toy Soldier - Under the bench in the far right of the garden area.

Examine the white cardboard box just ahead, then turn right and look at the one next to the window. There's also a letter on the desk by the far window to look at. Then follow Sam down the hatch. Search through another box then head through the part-open door to find another letter on the desk.

  • Optional Conversation: Talk to Sam after reading the letter.

Examine the vase, then help Sam open the door. Examine the sarcophagus, stone coffin, statue of two reclining figures, and the canopic jar, then head down the stairs.

  • Treasure: Toy Seaplane - At the top of the stairs opposite the reclining figures.

Look in the box then open the door, head through the small store room, and open the next door. Read the invitation on the worktop then interact with the globe. Look at the suit of armour: there are a couple more later on that you can steal the hats from, and which hat you're wearing later will have an effect (albeit an insignificant one) on the epilogue, so if you find one you like, stick with it. If you swap hats you can always swap back to your favourite.

Head into the next room and inspect the fertility totem on the table to the left, inspect the table, and optionally swap headgear with the armour just through the archway. Keep following Sam, take a look at the box under the desk, and then head into the entry hall. Inspect the jousting armour to the left, and then head through the doorway on the other side of the stairs. Poke around then head back to the entrance hall and head down the steps to the other half of the room.

  • Optional Conversation: Talk to Sam after looking at the Pyrate book.
  • Optional Conversation: Speak to him again immediately afterwards.

Pop a record on the gramophone, read the half-burned letter in the fireplace, then head to the far corner to find the last suit of armour. Go back down the stairs, turn left, head for the bookcase between the windows on the far left and get Sam to help you move it. Shake the picture a few times to develop it, then put it away. Climb onto the bookcase, up to the picture rail, and then to the wooden beam above.

  • Treasure: Pirate Snowglobe: From the wooden rail above the bookcase, jump back towards the balcony behind you. Climb up and the snowglobe is on the far end of the sofa on the right.

Head left and make your way round to the vent above the stairs and climb inside. Drop through the vent at the other end then explore the room - there's a pill bottle on the table next to the door, a letter on the desk by the window, and a photograph on the bed table - then grab the key from the far left side of the room. Open the door, head along the landing, and open the other locked door.

The box under the desk is the one you're looking for and there's nothing else of note in here, so take a look inside, read the book, and then watch the cutscene.

Now you're in trouble - a death occurring during the commission of a crime automatically makes it a felony, so getting caught is not an option. Climb left along the windowsill, up the drainpipe, and follow Sam across the roof, down the chimney, and on to the ground.

After your fall you need to run - don't stop to admire the scenery and stay close on Sam's heels. If you get grabbed you may get an opportunity to break free by mashing [TRIANGLE], but don't rely on it. You may also lose sight of Sam in the confusion, so when you reach the main driveway head left up the grass towards the front door to rejoin him, and then continue to follow him until you reach safety.
