Video: DICE talks Mirror's Edge Catalyst multiplayer and open world
Hints at progression mechanics, combat types, more.
We stopped by the Mirror's Edge Catalyst stand at EA's E3 booth today and had a good session with the game. Full impressions will follow, but it's fair to say that we were impressed by what we saw.
In the meantime, here's a quick chat that we grabbed with the game's design director Erik Odeldahl, where we ask him about lots of stuff that he can't quite yet answer but sort of hints that we're on the right track.
There's no co-op gameplay, for instance, although multiplayer elements of some sort will be included.
Catalyst's open world will also unlock over time, Odeldahl continued, which may or may not be tied into the progression of main character Faith's own skills.
You will be able to upgrade her abilities, although this won't be through simply equipping a new item. (There will be no shoes with springs in to create a higher jump).
Watch below for Odeldahl's responses to the rest of our questioning and we'll have full impressions of the game for you in the near future.
