Video: Playing a new boss battle in Lords of the Fallen
UPDATE: Will be 1080p on PS4 and 900p on Xbox One
UPDATE 23/09/2014 1.03am: Lords of the Fallen will be 1080p on PS4 and 900p on Xbox One, executive producer Tomasz Gop has confirmed to VideoGamer.
Gop noted that the two console releases would be "pretty much similar," but noted that with Xbox One "probably the resolution is like 900p instead of 1080p on PlayStation 4. But apart from that there's nothing different."
ORIGINAL STORY: 22/09/2014 5pm: Lords of the Fallen is a handsome next-gen Souls-like experience (with differences) and it's just over a month away. When we heard CI Games was ready to show a new boss battle, and to let us play it, we bit.
I'm helped along in the video below by Tomasz Gop, executive producer on Lords, who sits by me answering questions, tutoring and sometimes taking the reins himself, showing me how it's done.
And, eventually, I learn.
It's footage that shows some of the ways Lords of the Fallen differs from the Souls series - points Gop has been keen to highlight before.
Lords is a more arcade experience and, although very challenging, places save points at key moments such as boss battles so you can retry without the frustration of losing valuable progress.
Look out for Lords of the Fallen on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on 31st October.
