Video: the b*tchiest Easter eggs in games
And more from Outside Xbox.
Hi Eurogamers, welcome to your Avengers-style superteam of handpicked Outside Xbox videos. This week, we've been hunting videogame easter eggs, which exist to let developers hide jokes, secrets and downright weirdness in their games. And passive aggressive swipes at their rivals, it turns out.
These sideswipes include Duke Nukem discovering a dead Doom space marine, the desperate graffiti from Dead Rising's Frank West all over Left 4 Dead 2, and Grand Theft Auto 5's in-universe videogame Righteous Slaughter 7, a heavy-handed parody of every military FPS ever made. Catch the other cattiest examples in this video.
Next up this week, we turn to Forza Horizon 2. This sequel whisks the Horizon festival off to Europe and makes some big changes that have us itching to get back in the driving seat. In the video, Mike talks to creative director Ralph Fulton about the five most exciting improvements.
Finally, Show of the Week celebrates one of our favourite games of the last generation. It's Mike's pick this time: The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. For most, the draw of Skyrim is its vast, expansive world, along with the depth of its customisation and the scope of its quests. For Mike, it's the ability to run down mountains naked.
