Warner Bros. announces Gotham Knights game for 2021
Wayne no more.
Warner Bros. has announced Gotham Knights for 2021. It's due out on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and Xbox One.
The Warner Bros. Games Montreal-developed title is an open-world single-player and co-op action role-playing game starring playable Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood and Robin. The setup is the quartet must protect Gotham following the supposed death of Bruce Wayne.
Warner Bros. revealed the game's debut trailer during its DC Fandome online event.
And here's over seven minutes of pre-alpha gameplay, showing Batgirl a dozen or so hours into her character progression. She's speeding along the streets of Gotham on her bike, heading towards a boss fight against Mr. Freeze. Players can play all of the game either in solo or two-player co-op. The enemies scale with the player's level, too.
Of note, Robin uses the Justice League satellite for short-range teleportation. Batgirl fights in a familiar Batman melee style (grapple hook included). The narrator is creative director Patrick Redding, of Splinter Cell Blacklist, Conviction, and Far Cry 2 fame.
