Watch a video tour of the new Xbox One dashboard
Gone home.
Microsoft has shown off a video tour of the new Xbox One dashboard, which launches worldwide on 12th November.
All Xbox One users get the upgrade in a new system update on that date.
Master chief among the new features is the vertically-scrolling Home screen. Your current game or app is still front and centre, but below that your recently used items and your disk can be found.
Each app or game panel includes information and links for you to follow - to the game's Hub page, for example, where update notes are posted.
Pins have been moved to the very bottom of the Home screen, but can be easily reached with a touch of the right shoulder button.
Finally, the left of the new Home screen is the new Xbox Guide, which can pop open to view and manage your friends list, parties, messages, settings and snapped apps. It can be accessed while in any game by double-tapping the Home button on the Xbox One controller, too.
Microsoft's video neglects to to show the dashboard's other tabs, but the Community tab houses your newsfeed of friend activities, while OneGuide lets you know what TV shows or films are trending on any apps/live TV you have.
Finally, there's the Store page, which when selected expands into the four subcategories Xbox One has already - games, apps, TV/movies and music.
We've been using the dashboard in beta form for the past couple of months and have quickly become familiar with the experience. It's noticeably faster, too - thanks to the new Windows 10 architecture running underneath the hood.
12th November will also see the launch of the Xbox One's much-anticipated backwards compatibility feature. Microsoft has promised that more than 100 games will be available from the off, with more added regularly. We'll bring you that list of compatible titles as soon as it's announced on 9th November.
