Wii U user able to access "mock-up menu" with unannounced games
Nintendo responds as users sees mention of Yoshi's Land Wii U, Soul Hackers games.
A Wii U user has been able to access a hidden area of the Miiverse which listed several unannounced games.
Nintendo has admitted the area existed and termed it a "mock-up menu" of content. The area was quickly removed when the user began posting screenshots and information to NeoGAF.
"It has come to our attention that some people were able to access a mock up menu on Miiverse following the launch of Wii U in the US," Nintendo told GamesIndustry International. "Please note that this was only a mock up menu and has now been removed and is not accessible."
In a post titled "I think I either hacked the Wii U Miiverse or I am stupid", the user posted evidence of him being able to see forum boards mentioning Yoshi's Land Wii U and Soul Hackers.
Boards for Metal Gear Solid, Wii Fit, Metroid, Final Fantasy 3 and Dragon Quest 10 were also available.
Posts from accounts named Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt were also visible - presumably from Nintendo's internal testers. The user was also able to delete and flag up other users' Miiverse posts as if he were a mod.
"I found out I could access the debug menu on Miiverse by hitting the 'X' button on the gamepad while hovering over the exit button," the user explained. "I found an admin access list or something to that effect.
"By the time I stopped posting on gaf to check for more it was fixed, and someone pointed out that Nintendo put up a tweet about a miiverse fix."
