World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria talent calculator
Build your hero the new way.
With World of Warcraft expansion Mists of Pandaria, Blizzard will overhaul a character talent (extra ability) system that has existed for seven years.
And we now know how, thanks to an all-new Mists of Pandaria talent calculator unleashed on the World of Warcraft website.
Talents no longer belong to the three-per-class talent trees. And there are no talent points. Instead, starting at level 15, and every 15 levels thereafter, you'll pick one of three talents.
These change each 15 levels and have no strings attached.
A level 15 warrior can choose between Juggernaut, Double Time and Warbringer - all of which improve the Charge ability in a different way.
A level 90 warrior can choose between Bladestorm, Shockwave and Avatar. Shockwave causes 456 damage to, and stuns for four seconds, all targets within 10 yards and a frontal cone of you.
In addition to talents, character choose a specialisation at level 10. These specialisations are the old talent trees. A warrior chooses between Arms, Fury and Protection.
These specialisations offer exclusive skills roughly every 10 levels on top of your base class skills. Some of the exclusive skills are new, others resemble old (existing) talents. A Fury warrior unlocks Bloodthirst and passive ability Crazed Berserker at level 10, for instance.
The upshot of this talent system is that, by character level 60, you will only have six talents rather than dozens. Yet your character role should be roughly similar because of the specialisation you picked. Re-specialising your talents should be much less of a faff, in other words.
The talent calculator for the upcoming Monk class isn't available.
