Xbox One voice messages now live in new system update
You can also turn your console on via Smartglass.
Xbox One has received a new system update that adds the highly requested voice messaging feature to the console.
Better yet, it allows players to send voice messages cross-platform between Xbox One and Xbox 360. You can access this feature through the snapped messages app upon double-tapping the Xbox button.
Another new addition to Xbox One is the ability to power the console on and off through your phone via Smartglass.
Xbox One users will also be able to select their power settings through the initial setup process. As such, they can set the console to turn on via voice commands and receive background updates through instant-on mode, or go into energy-saving mode to use less power and have the console boot up by pressing the Xbox button on the controller.
Dedicated servers for Party Chat are still in the works, but it's still available for preview members and Microsoft is gradually rolling it out to a larger audience to test the upcoming feature.
