You can scare Daylight players through Twitch chat

Release date announced.

Zombie Studios' procedurally generated first-person scare-fest Daylight launches on PC and PlayStation 4 on 8th April. It costs £11.99.

One interesting new feature revealed today is the game's use of Twitch chat to let players cue in-game events. Say, for example, someone watching a Daylight stream types the word "meow" into the chat. This would cause the game to make a corresponding sound of a cat. "So yes. You can literally scare your friends now by watching the stream," publisher Atlus said.

There are caveats. In Atlus' words:

"They're all on timers, so you can't spam them. That would be ridiculous."

And: "We're not going to tell you the list of words. You're going to have to find them through experimentation."

Daylight uses RealD3D tech so it'll be fully 3D compatible out of the box. "Catching an overhead light flicker down an incredibly long corridor is one of the more chilling 3D applications... until you come across a spirit, that is," Atlus said. The game also supports the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset.
