Zelda Four Swords DSiWare date, details
Anniversary Edition adds single-player.
Free DSiWare download The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition will be released on 28th September, says Nintendo.
It's an updated version of the multiplayer Four Swords mode included in Game Boy Advance version of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
Four Swords was, as the name suggests, designed for four people to play co-operatively. The Anniversary Edition, however, adds a single-player option where solitary adventurers can control two Links.
You can swap between Links with a tap of the L or R button, and direct one hero at a time, a bit like in Pikmin 2.
Two new areas have also been added: Hero's Trial and Realm of Memories. Each contains three extra levels and, once completed, grants a new skill - the Hurricane Spin and the Master Sword.
Released as DSiWare, Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition will be playable on DSi and 3DS.
But Nintendo's generosity only lasts until early next year. Four Swords Anniversary Edition disappears on 20th February 2012.
