Everything you need to know about the Adventure Pouch in Skyward Sword.
The Adventure Pouch is a form of item storage unique to The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.
It ensures you can only bring a certain number of items on your adventure, which includes your shield and empty bottles. Thankfully, you can upgrade the Adventure Pouch.
Still, you will find yourself regularly visiting the Item Check on Skyloft to manage your items.

Adventure Pouch in Zelda: Skyward Sword explained
The Adventure Pouch is an important feature of Skyward Sword, because this is where you'll keep your shield, potions, medals and items like the bomb bags or extra wallets.
It doesn't, however, contain any of the special tools or items you'll collect during your adventure, such as the Wooden Bow, Beetle or Gust Bellows, so you never have to worry about leaving an important item behind.
You'll first receive the Adventure Pouch from Fledge as you leave Skyloft for the first time.
Initially the Adventure Pouch will only have four slots, but can be upgraded to a total of eight. These upgrades are essential, because, without them, you'll find yourself constantly moving between the surface world and Skyloft as you attempt to manage your items.
Item Check in Zelda: Skyward Sword explained
Items you can't fit in your Adventure Pouch in Skyward Sword are kept in the Item Check, which is located in the bazaar on Skyloft.
As you progress through the game, you'll find yourself visiting the Item Check regularly, so you can switch out your shield or bring additional bomb bags. You might even find yourself growing closer to Peatrice who runs this storage centre.
If you find an important item, like a new empty bottle, when your Adventure Pouch is full, this new item will be automatically sent to the Item Check.
Our Skyward Sword walkthrough will help you find every Heart Piece and Empty Bottle. We can also help you defeat Ghirahim, Scaldera, Moldarach, The Imprisoned, Koloktos, Tentalus, Bilocyte and Demise. You can also discover where to find Kukiel to unlock the Gratitude Crystals and a number of side quests, including the toilet paper quest, missing sister location and party wheel location.
How to upgrade the Adventure Pouch in Zelda: Skyward Sword
The Adventure Pouch in Skyward Sword can be upgraded four times allowing you to carry a total of eight items - from medals to extra quivers or wallets - on your journey through Hyrule.
The first Adventure Pouch slot is found by using a Skyward Strike on the first Goddess Cube you encounter in The Deep Woods. This will activate the Goddess Chest located outside the Lumpy Pumpkin on Pumpkin Landing in the sky.
The next three upgrades are purchased from Beedle's Airshop at the following prices:
- First Slot - 300 Rupees
- Second Slot - 600 Rupees
- Third Slot - 1200 Rupees
To afford the second Adventure Pouch, you'll first need to purchase the Big Wallet from Beedle and, for the third, you'll need to buy the Giant Wallet from him.
