Zelda: Skyward Sword - Isle of Songs bridge puzzle solution explained
How to enter the tower on the Isle of Songs.
Solving the Isle of Songs bridge puzzle in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword will grant you access to the island's tower.
Inside this tower you'll learn new harp songs, which will grant you access to the Silent Realms scattered across both the surface and the sky.
You'll first visit the Isle of Songs after completing the Lanayru Mining Facility and your first battle with The Imprisoned. To reach it, you'll need to position the windmills on Skyloft and play the Harp for some eventual results.

How to solve the Isle of Songs puzzle in Zelda: Skyward Sword
The Isle of Songs in Skyward Sword is located within the Thunderhead, which is accessed by correctly positioning the windmills in Skyloft and then playing the Harp atop the Light Tower.
Finding the Isle of Songs within the Thunderhead is easy - all you have to do is follow the blue light!
Keep an eye out for the bizarre flying insects, because contact with one of these creatures will cost you some health. Thankfully, they can be killed by making Link's Loftwing charge through the orange tip on their tail.
When you finally land on the Isle of Songs, you'll discover that the bridge leading to it's entrance is scattered into three pieces. If you want access to the tower, then you need to correctly align these bridge sections.
This is achieved by turning the dial at the centre of the island, which, itself, moves the sections of bridges. Each bridge section is represented by a moving block on the island, making it easy for you to tell where each piece is. It's important to note that the dial can only be turned clockwise.
Next to the dial are three switches that control the walls which appear on the island to prevent the block, therefore bridge sections, from moving. Managing these walls correctly will allow you to rebuild the bridge. You can hit these switches with either your sword or the Slingshot.
To solve the puzzle you need to complete the following steps:
- Move central dial seven times
- Hit the right switch
- Move central dial six times
- Hit the top crystal
- Move central dial once
- Hit the right crystal
- Move the central dial until the bridge is correctly in place
The bridge should now be correctly in place and you can enter the tower to learn a new harp song - Farore's Courage.
You can return to Faron Woods and use the harp to complete its Silent Realm challenge to earn the Water Dragon's Scale, which will allow you to swim underwater. This will allow you to access the great tree, so you can gain access to Lake Floria.
After this, you need to find the sacred water, so you can enter the fourth dungeon - the Ancient Cistern.
