"ARE THEY GONNA BAN ME FOR USING PAINT NOW TOO"
Oh the things banned Overwatch cheats say.
Oh dear there appears to have been another wave of Overwatch bans, Blizzard primarily - or most noticeably - turfing out cheaters using triggerbots, which automatically shoot when the crosshairs are placed over an enemy. And I'm afraid to say some people aren't happy about it.
"what is blizzards ****ing problem??" snapped one banned Overwatch player in the OwnedCore forum via Reddit. "it must be ilegal to do something like this. just banning us for running an external program that doesnt even hack the game. it was just a mouse bot. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
"ARE THEY GONNA BAN ME FOR USING PAINT NOW TOO."
"I just got banned too, wtf," said another bemused and banned player. "blizzard you're really gonna punish people who paid you MONEY for this game????"
It seems another victim was almost too angry to string a sentence together. "**** **** f** i got hit," the person garbled. "i only tried it once and im in a ****ing sem pro team. ggg. g. g. g. g. g. time to disappeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar."
Others have lost hours of progress and, by the sounds of it, considerable money spent on loot boxes. "i LOST my 240 lvl account," said one person. "I HAD PAID 150 FOR BOXXES."
There's a screenshot of an email from Blizzard Germany notifying a player of a ban to their account "SUCKMYD1CKBLIZZARD", which I don't... I can't... Why did... Nope. No idea.
And there's some huff-and-puff about DDoS-ing Blizzard, although the threat peters out somewhat when the person asks how to join Anonymous and whether the hacker collective has Skype.
Blizzard takes a hard line against cheaters in all of its games, and has plenty of experience from more than a decade of operating the world's most popular MMO, World of Warcraft. "We've always taken cheating in Blizzard games very seriously, and that stance is no different for Overwatch," announced Blizzard, loud and clear, when Overwatch launched in May.
"If a player is found to be cheating - or using hacks, bots, or third-party software that provides any sort of unfair advantage - that player will be permanently banned from the game. Full stop."
