Pokémon Let's Go Saffron City, Sabrina Gym Battle and Fighting Dojo - available Pokémon, items and trainers

Our complete Pokémon Let's Go walkthrough and guide to your big adventure with Pikachu or Eevee.

Saffron City, Sabrina's Gym and the Fighting Dojo are some of your next stops in your quest through Pokémon Let's Go's main story, after clearing Rocket Game Corner and returning to Lavender Town's Pokémon Tower to find out what's at the top.

Not everything will be available to tackle right away though - you're going to need to clear out Silph Co. and Team Rocket again beforehand - so we've put together a detailed guide to that on a separate page!

Below, we'll cover any and all of the obtainable Pokémon, item locations, trainers and their squads that you might encounter in the area, as well as walking you through any key steps of the story along the way.

We've also opted to break out walkthrough pages down into sections, referring to each of your visits to a given location, seeing as you often backtrack or revisit various places in your quest to become Champion! Where applicable, we'll split our page into one section for each visit, and of course if there are any, clearly mark any spoilers, too!

For more like this, be it specific systems explainers or walkthrough pages on more locations, head back to our main Pokémon Let's Go walkthrough and guide hub.

Pokémon Let's Go: Saffron City and Fighting Dojo

Saffron City is another big one, which the huge Silph Co. building in the centre - occupied by Team Rocket after you've cleared them out of Rocket Game Corner back in Celadon City - as well as both Sabrina's Gym and the Fighting Dojo, a kind of mini-gym, to tackle too.

Like Celadon City, we've split this into two pages: this current one, which deals with the city itself, the Dojo, Sabrina's Gym and anything else you can do before and after clearing out Team Rocket; and a separate page on Silph Co. and Team Rocket, which is more than big enough to warrant its own!

To get straight to points of interest then, in the bottom right of town is Mr Psychic's house - talk to him and he'll give you TM40 Psychic! vThere's also another Alolan trade in the Pokémon Center, this time their Alolan Raichu for your regular one. Alolan Raichu is half Psychic-type, by the way, which can come in very handy against Team Rocket in Silph Co. if you don't already have a strong Psychic-type attacker.

There's also a girl in the top-left corner of town who goes by the name 'Copycat', who'll give you TM08 Substitute if you show her her favourite Pokémon (it should be obvious from all the things in her room... but we've put the solution below in the Items table if you need it).

The town's gym is closed off for now, but you can access the Fighting Dojo if you fancy a challenge that isn't Team Rocket! Defeat all of the trainers there including the master and you'll have a choice of two Fighting-type Pokémon: Hitmonlee or Hitmonchan! You can only pick one, so choose wisely, although unlike previous games in Kanto there is actually another opportunity to catch these Pokémon in the wild, albeit much later on.

We'll tackle the gym itself and any other post-Silph Co. things to do in the section just below.

Pokémon Let's Go: Saffron City revisited, Sabrina's Gym

After defeating Team Rocket in the Silph Co. building, there are a few things to do around town - a man outside Silph offers you a Porygon as a gift, whilst the Police Officer in to the top right of town will give you a new outfit. Then, it's time to take on the Gym - only there's a catch. You'll need to have a Pokémon of at least level 45 in your party to enter which, in our case, required a fair bit of grinding first.

You can actually proceed all the way to Fuchsia City at this point, via either of the paths with a sleeping Snorlax: either Route 12 by Lavender Town or Route 16 by Celadon City. They lead onto some routes that are easy-going but full of high-level trainers and wild Pokémon which is a great way to level up if you're a little behind. Don't forget to take on the Dojo too, that we covered in the section above, if you haven't already.

Once you're ready, there's a familiar looking puzzle inside Sabrina's Gym: it's more warp pads! We've mapped exactly where each pad goes to so you can get straight to battling.

There are 10 levels in total, plus the entrance area, with six trainers plus Gym Leader Sabrina. The gym is Psychic-type, so Bug, Ghost, and Dark-type attacks are going to come in handy here as you go.
