Nezarec team composition and strategy

The fight against Nezarac will combine the mechanics of the previous encounters. There are orbs of Light and Dark, party wipes that require Dark (and now Light) refuge, and a Tormentor like boss.

Form three teams of two. One team is responsible for managing Nezarac. He has the same weak points as a Tormentor, his shoulders and chest. Shooting his chest will give a debuff called Nezarac’s Hatred, drawing damage to that Guardian until it runs out, and keeping the rest of the party safe. Destroying both of Nezarac’s shoulders will cause him to briefly flash either Light or Dark. Call that out.

The next pair will be runners, split between the left and right side of the arena responsible for forming Orbs of Light (Left) and Darkness (Right) in all of the Nodes. Completing both sides is what triggers the boss damage phase.

When the boss control team calls out an energy type that will tell you which energy he will pulse to wipe out the party. To protect the team from Darkness, a runner will need to collect Field of Light and shoot a Darkness Orb. To protect from Light, the opposite will need to happen, someone with Flux of Darkness will need to shoot a Light Orb. This works at any orb except the one with the Aura. Have everyone collect the correct Refuge to keep them alive and then return to their respective tasks.

The last pair is responsible for clearing adds. They spawn all over the map, and interfere with the tasks of the other teams, so controlling the enemies is extremely important. Listen for when a Refuge is built, and gather when it is time for boss DPS.

How to kill Nezarac in the Root of Nightmwares Raid

Shortly after all of the Nodes Are turned to Orbs, Nezarac will be struck by a powerful beam attack, and be open to damage. Designate a plate for the entire team to do DPS from. Attack him with your best boss damaging weapons, using Wells of Radiance and any other abilities to buff damage and keep your team alive. Note that he will come close to the party to attack, so weapons like rocket launchers can be risky.

After a while Nezarac will become immune to all damage. Everyone should return to their starting positions, and prepare to repeat the cycle. Continue doing this until Nezarac reaches the last section of his health bar, and he enters his last stand. Once this starts you will need to either damage him quickly enough to take all his health, or he will wipe out your team. Succeed in this fight, and you will have beaten the Root of Nightmares raid.
