Review | Meteos Wars
Rocket science.
Falling blocks may be ubiquitous in gaming, but Q Entertainment always manages to do something interesting with them. In Lumines, players rotate tumbling groups of four to organise overlapping square-edged shapes, which are then rubbed away for points by a sweeping vertical line. In Meteos, individual blocks tumble from the heavens and have to be sent back there by arranging them into horizontal or vertical lines of matching threes, which are then rocket-boosted upwards.

Review | Street Fighter IV
A new challenger reappears.
Playing Street Fighter IV on Xbox 360, we're trying to recall the last time we were so hyped about the release of a fighter. Enthusiasm grew during the build-up to Soul Calibur IV, as did our anticipation for Virtua Fighter 5 a year prior, but it's an age since a fighter has been so prevalent in actual office banter. With the console release of Street Fighter IV weeks away, the trash talk about who's going to rush down who has started to turn nasty. How we've missed it.

Review | F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin
It's rude to Point Man.
The last time we saw Project Origin was in Monolith's Seattle headquarters early last year. What was on display then was two scenes from very different levels. The first showed you fighting against Abominations - Armacham's failed attempts at creating a psychic army. They couldn't stand up straight, but what they lacked in spinal integrity they made up for in the ability to grease around the walls and pop up for a quick nibble on your face. They could flip themselves up the walls like over-perky pancakes, and fold over themselves in a slightly nauseating and undignified display. It was righteously grim.

Review | Dynasty Warriors Strikeforce
KOEI's latest battlefield brawler isn't really a battlefield brawler.
Forget everything you thought you knew about Dynasty Warriors. Remember, instead, the days of the Dreamcast, and the first time you ever played Phantasy Star Online. Remember the sheer logistical improbability of it all - the trouble you had getting hold of a keyboard and trailing your phone line across your house just so you could meet up with friends online. Remember meeting up and dancing in the lobbies, before heading out, just the four of you. Remember the way that everybody was so nice and friendly, and how higher-level characters (or everybody on the Japanese servers) would drop gifts on the floor before nannying you through the difficult bits.

With this in mind, here's my favourite features on Eurogamer this year, in no particular order. That ought to fill some space.
