Review | Carcassonne
Feeling board?
Well! It sure looks like things have got a little interesting for Xbox Live gamers in the market for a board game designed by a German with a title that begins with the letter C, huh? With the release of Carcassonne, based on Klaus-Jürgen Wrede's tile-based landscape building game, the amount of options has literally doubled.

Review | Megaman ZX
Blue truth.
Megaman is a 2D action game hero defined as much by what he can't do as by what he can. The diminutive blue android's inability to duck increasingly seems like stubborn servicing of an ill-advised tradition rather than a deliberate, meaningful design decision. Likewise, when fighting a towering boss whose weak point is at a direct 45 degree angle above your position, you'll curse his ongoing failure to perform diagonal shooting today just as players did fifteen years ago.

Review | SimCity
Streets of beige.

Interview | Ninja Gaiden Sigma
Game director talks PS3 remake.
Yosuke Hayashi doesn't look like a ninja. He looks young, smartly dressed and smiles a lot, and seems singularly unlikely to flip out and kill everyone in the room at the drop of a hat. Of course, ninjas are noted as masters of stealth, so we should be on our guard. Appearances can be deceptive.

The men behind the game of the film of the toon of the toys.
When Michael Bay was announced as the director who would be transforming some '80s toy robots into a live action movie for the modern era, the internet exploded with rage. But if the creators of the videogame of the movie are feeling any pressure from the fanboys, the game's producer, Andy Burrows, isn't letting on, to judge by his laid back interview style. Review | TouchMaster
Classic pub games for the cost of a round.
As timely releases go, this must be set to the Atomic Clock. Just as the pubs boot smokers out in the rain, so Midway pitches up with a compilation of crap old touch-screen pub games. You know - Target 21, Phoenix 13, 5 Star Generals, Trivia, Word Search. If the bells aren't ringing, picture the three blokes in paint-splattered t-shirts leaning against a huge lump of space-age plastic, pints atop, tapping icons on the screen. 80% chance, 20% practised anticipation, they're all a bit naff - but if you've been banished outside with a tab, why not take the best bit of the pub with you? This could be your 42 All-Time Classics.

Win a Wii and the latest Potter game!
Harry up, they won't last.
My favourite's Ron if you're asking - the old underdog. That Harry's far too lucky and Hermione hasn't got time for anyone other than her books. Neville's lost a lot of weight though, looks like a different person - probably from all that dancing he took a shining to. I hope Fred and George are alright with their joke-stuff, and I wonder who's taking Defence Against The Dark Arts.

Review | Missile Command
No Cities Left.
On its own terms, the idea of a standalone Missile Command re-issue over Live hardly sounds like something to get excited about. It may well have entered the arcade Hall of Rose Tinted Fame about nine hundred years ago, but unless you were there at the time (man) it's hard to convey to anyone under the age of 28 exactly what the fuss was about. But isn't that always the case with early '80s retro offerings? Frankly, sod them if they're too young to get it. There's enough of us out there who do, and Microsoft knows it.
