Feature | Superfuse has super fuses
Amped up.
Like Gatsby, I guess I know the power of the green light. Out on the dock, down in the dungeon - the light! The light! I reach for it. I can't wait. It's not love. It's better than love. It's - wait! It's only the chance to split my fireballs into three and ping them all off in different directions.

Feature | Monster Train dev's new game Inkbound reinterprets Hades, and it works
Write on.
Inkbound totally gets it. It understands what makes a Roguelike really compelling and exciting. This is the new game from Monster Train developer Shiny Shoe, so perhaps that's no surprise - because if any game can claim to have taken the Slay the Spire formula and made something memorable out of it, something of its own, it's Monster Train. Still, it's not an easy thing to do.

Recommended | A Space for the Unbound review - a slice of life, and all its pain
Teenage scream.
Plenty of indie games deal with anxiety and depression, but few contain such raw and mighty anguish as A Space for the Unbound. Following a group of teenagers through the difficulties of school life and beyond - beyond in space as much as time - it's appropriately awkward at times, rushing over-eagerly in some areas, dawdling for far too long in others and frequently figuring it out as it goes. With that teenage earnestness comes buckets of charm though and, more importantly, a genuine, raw sincerity. A Space for the Unbound feels a lot, and it feels hard, and it's intoxicating as a result.

Feature | A few days with the Wonder Boy Anniversary Collection
Six games, 21 versions.
The Wonder Boy Anniversary Collection is a lovely thing, I think, but a lovely thing that arrives in a fairly ugly situation. This new collection of Wonder Boy games comes out just half a year after the last one. That one had four games, and this one has six - although when you factor in the different platform versions included this time, you're actually getting 21. Anyway, confusing things more, I gather that the two new games that weren't on the previous digital version were included on an exclusive physical copy. I don't think there's an upgrade path if you bought the previous collection, either.
