The man behind Threewave CTF, David "Zoid" Kirsch, announced in his .plan today that he is leaving id Software after three years working as a contract programmer for the company, producing Q2CTF and working on Linux ports of the Quake games amongst other projects.

The latest addition to the growing EuroGamer empire is "ModGamer", a site dedicated to mods and user-made add-ons for a whole range of games from the Quakes and Unreals through to Tiberian Sun and Total Annihilation.

Epic Games' anticipated Unreal Tournament bonus pack has finally been released, exclusively for Gamecenter. This free bonus pack features three new characters, 11 new multiplayer levels and the new 'Relics' system (similar to the Quake 'Runes'). Grab the file (13.8 Mb) from Gamecenter (I assume their FTP is swamped at the moment, but keep trying).

Following on from our Evolva preview earlier this week, EuroGamer has today posted an interview with the team behind the game.

UbiSoft just sent us word that they are working on a new 3D action adventure game based on .. wait for it .. VIP, the TV series about a female bodyguard featuring former Baywatch "star" and the planet's first silicon based lifeform, Pamela Anderson Lee.

Until recently British company Computer Artworks was probably best known for "Organic Art", a program which allows you to "evolve" art on your computer, picking out which strains you like best and breeding them to produce eerily beautiful pictures that look like some sort of bizarre prehistoric life form...

have posted a downright bizarre interview with Matt Kresge, one of the team behind the 3D RPG Summoner. For example, when asked how he goes about designing models, Matt replied -

It may only just have been released in the UK today, but the first patch for Battlezone II is now available. The patch (available from Activision here) is a meager 3Mb, and improves multiplayer support, fixes some controller problems, makes haulers haul more reliably, and "enables worldwide multiplayer gaming".

Finally some news about the upcoming Unreal Tournament bonus pack, apparently Gamecenter will team up with Epic Games to premiere the Unreal Tournament Bonus Pack today. This free bonus pack will feature three new skins, 11 new multiplayer levels and a new feature, Relics (similar to the 'Runes' in good 'ol Quake). Be sure to check us out later today for the news on this bonus pack.

Cinematix have released a patch for their action/role-playing game, Revenant (which we reviewed yesterday), it's still unknown exactly what this patch fixes. Grab the file from 3D Files (2.1 Mb).

Amongst the changes, Odium's release has been pushed back until next week, and Deep Fighter has been given a provisional release date of "June". John has let me know that 1C have released the first movie (20 Mb) from their upcoming truck driving simulator, Hard Truck 2, an upcoming game that utilizes the same engine that has been used by various simulators, including NASA. Download the movie from GA-Sports or 3D Files.

GamePlay had posted the demos from the Razer-CPL event's official UK qualifier yesterday, but they were all just dumped into an ftp directory with no real idea of which was which. Now somebody with time to spare over at Barrysworld has sifted through them and posted an index of the demos here. They're still not quite sure which matches all of Billox's demos are from, but that should be added later...

I noticed over at CGO that Westwood Studios' anticipated Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun expansion pack, Firestorm has gone gold and is set to hit shelves in North America March 9th. This expansion pack will feature 18 new single-player maps, 15 new multiplayer maps, new options for the Battle Map creator and a bunch of new units.

Sierra just sent out the official announcement that they will be publishing Ground Control, the 3D RTS from Swedish company Massive Entertainment, later this year. Check the press release for the full scoop, or read our preview to find out more about the game.

A patch has been released for the Soldier of Fortune demo. Weighing in at just 1Mb, the patch fixes the random crashes some people have suffered from as well as a number of minor bugs, improves the spectator mode in multiplayer, and adds A3D 3.0 support for all you audio freaks. According to an interesting news blurb over at GA-RPG, Logic Factory's upcoming action role-playing adventure game, Seeker, has been delayed until Q3 2000. The game was originally scheduled for a Q1 2000 release, but the developers have hit some minor delays, the game is scheduled to release in the Fall now. Read more in the news blurb over at GA-RPG.
