Lords of the Fallen - Judge, final boss, minions, Fire Resistance Shards
Struggling to beat the final fight in Lords of the Fallen? Our complete walkthrough concludes with an essential guide to this boss encounter
If you really want to take some of the sting out of this fight, the best advice we can give you is to pack every scrap of attacking power you have at your disposal. Expect the Judge to heal up several times during this fight, and so the more damage you can do, the quicker the fight will end overall. You'll also do well to have plenty of Fire Resistance Shards at your disposal too.
The Judge final boss fight
The fight begins in a room in the Citadel but transitions to the courtyard when you've delivered a little light damage. We recommend wearing the best light armour you possess, and staying just beyond the Judge's melee attacking range, so that you can bait out his two-hit and three-hit combos.
Both of the two-hit combo attacks come from the Judge's bladed arms. For the three-hit combo, he'll start with the left, switch to the right, and then finish up with a ground-slam. You'll be given a little more time to dart in and do some damage after this lengthier combo, but make sure you don't rush in too early and get caught up in the slam. The radius isn't too wide, but it might take you an attempt or two to really nail this.
If the Judge starts running towards you, get ready for another one of those massive slams. If your timing is good, you should be able to avoid the damage by rolling out of the way. If you're struggling here, consider jumping to safety instead. You still need to time it carefully, but this method is a little more forgiving.
The Judge will also fire blades at you from time to time. Light and medium-armour fans should be able to stroll out of the way quite easily, but if you use heavy armour you must roll to avoid the worst of this damage. Fortunately this attack only occurs if you move quite a long way away from the boss.
If you see green patches on the ground, run in towards the boss quickly and dish out some fast damage. As soon as he runs away, do some extra damage to him with your Gauntlet. When he's gone, activate a Fire Resistance Shard and start running around to avoid the flaming trails that appear on the ground.
When the Judge comes back, start hitting him once again while he finishes the spawned creatures and tops up his health. It's much easier to simply evade these creatures when they spawn, as you'll struggle to reach them all in time while the boss is away. Better to do that frenzied damage to the Judge while he's preoccupied, so as to mitigate the health rejuvenation these minions grant him.
After this first wave of spawns, the Judge will start making use of another projectile attack which will damage you when it hits you, and also spawn a deadly patch of red mist. Avoid getting hit by this attack at all costs, as it will cripple your health bar fast.
If you maintain these defensive tactics, and do the bulk of your damage during the frenzied phases mentioned above, you should have this boss ticked off in no time. Congratulations on beating the game!
