How to open the first tower in The Exchange chapter of Maquette
Congratulations! You've reached the final level of Maquette, The Exchange, and your first task is to retrieve the dome from the rock circle.
Lifting the dome will cause the rocks to disappear and you'll notice that, as you move it around, the outside world copies your movements.
Next, you'll want to place the dome near the tower with the long staircase and dead tree. Once it's placed, you'll discover that the dome you're in has also moved closer to this tower - keep this knowledge in mind for later and climb up the tower.
At the top of the stairs, opposite the dead trees, you'll find a lever to pull, which will open the doors to the tower directly opposite you.
Enter the tower and you'll find a now familiar looking owl statue; touch it to make a series of arches and a lever appear in front of you.
How to solve the archway tower time trail in Maquette
Pulling this new lever in Maquette will start a time trial which will force you to race towards the doors for the archway tower directly opposite you. If you fail, the doors will close and you'll have to try again.
Before you go any further, double check that the dome is still close to the entrance of the tower, so you can access it quickly.
When you're ready, pull the lever and quickly return to the dome, then place it near the tower at the end of the row of arches. There will also be butterflies flying around its entrance.
Inside the tower, you'll touch a new crystal, which will cause a turret to appear outside.
How to solve the symbol puzzles in Maquette
This turret in Maquette is divided into five separate rungs, with each one displaying one of five symbols. You can change the symbol it displays by rotating the rungs.
Return to the dome to discover a replica of this new turret and stand on the button in front of it.
Doing so will cause the rocks surrounding the turret to float, revealing that each has one of the five symbols hidden on its base. The rocks will also be floating at different heights, with the exact height corresponding on a different rung on the turret.
You need to move each rung on the miniature turret to match the symbol on the rock.
From highest to lowest, here's the order for the symbols:
- Block
- Gem
- Person
- Window
- Butterfly
Successfully completing this puzzle will make a new turret appear, but, when you stand on its button, the rocks will float behind the turret, preventing you from seeing the symbols.
To see the symbols, you need to place the dome on the opposite side of the turret. This means, when you step on the button, you can look out of the larger dome and see the rocks.
From lowest to highest, here's the symbol order for this turret:
- Butterfly
- Gem
- Window
- Block
- Person
Once those symbols have been correctly placed, the doors for the blue tower will open, so move the dome closer and then enter this building.
Touch the bell you find inside to open the doors for the next tower, while also making a series of rocks appear around it.
How to reach the sketchbook in Maquette
Your final task in Maquette is to reach the sketchbook located in the last tower.
Use the dome again to cut down on travel time and enter this new tower. Inside you'll see the sketchbook at the top of the wedge, but you won't be able to reach it.
Instead, you need to return to the dome and place the model dome on top of the rock directly opposite the entrance to the tower. This will put the whole world on an angle, allowing you to climb the stairs and reach the sketchbook.
Afterwards, the world will have righted itself again and you can now either move the dome closer to the tower with the tree or simply walk there yourself.
And, with that, you've completed Maquette - congratulations!
