Route 216 Pokémon, trainers and items
On Route 216 it's snowing heavily, which means the Hail effect is active in battle, causing most Pokémon to take damage each turn unless they're Ice-type or have the ability Ice Body, Magic Guard, Overcoat, or Snow Cloak.
There's a second area to this route, which runs higher up atop a cliff that can only be accessed with the HM Rock Climb, but you can't go there now, so just continue westwards collecting Pokémon and items and battling the several trainers that are here if you fancy it. There's a building at the western end called Snowbound Lodge, which thankfully allows you to sleep in a bed to rest and heal up your Pokémon!

Route 217 Pokémon, trainers and items
On Route 217, it's really snowing hard. This route is very long and heads north from Route 216 to Acuity Lakefront and just past that, Snowpoint City, where you can heal up.
Trudge north through the heavy snow, and once you get most of the way up the route you'll find a hut in the middle of the snow. Talk to the Hiker inside and he'll tell you he lost a TM for Rock Climb somewhere outside - that was silly of him! You'll want that. It's just behind his hut next to a tree. Get it, and it'll add Rock Climb to your Pokétch. Talk to the Hiker inside and he'll kindly let you keep it, too. Now you just need to beat the relevant Gym Leader and you can use it in the wild.
In the north-east, past a second house, there's an Icy Rock, which you can bring an Eevee to in order to evolve it into a Glaceon. There are loads of hidden items on this route buried in the heavy snow, so be prepared to use your Pokétch Item Finder app, and we've explained where they all are as best we can below!
