Snowpoint City Pokémon, trainers and items
Snowpoint City is, as the name suggests, a snowy city in the northernmost point of Sinnoh. It's very pretty, but there's not much going on here, and the residents seem to like it that way.
To the north of twon is Snowpoint Temple - you can't enter here until you have the National Pokédex however, so come back later. Your main goal in town is the Gym, after which you can try your luck at Lake Acuity again.

Snowpoint City Gym puzzle solution and how to beat Gym Leader Candice
Snowpoint City Gym has a slightlu tricky puzzle: you need to destroy the large snowballs that are in your way by sliding into them, using the slippery ledges of the Gym to get up enough speed.
Note that you can't use the steps, as those slow you down.
Snowpoint City Gym puzzle solution
To proceed, first do the two vertical lines of snowballs in the central lower cluster, by sliding into them from the sides of the non-slippery entrance area.
Then do the single central one in front of the second, middle set of stairs, by coming at it from the right. Now you need to do the central row of them, and the ones at the top blocking the two sets of stairs up to Candice.
To do the central row, you have come across if from the side it twice. First work your way up to the top-right corner of the Gym where along the top wall there's a non-slip pad made of two squares. Use the left square to slide south to another sticky pad. Then go left from that, across the lower part of that central sunken area.
Then walk up one step to another sticky pad, and down to the central area. This might take multiple tries (bump into the wall on the left to get a bit of momentum) but it does work.
Then go all the way back to the entrance, left to the snowball there, and straight up until you hit the next snowball (the right of two near each other, on that left-most wall). Now go right from there to smash a ball in front of some steps, and there's one more to go.
Go down to the bottom-left corner again, onto the pad near the snowball there. Go right to the pad between the left snowball and the entrance area. Go north from that all the way up to the top of the room. Go left to the sticky pad in the top-left. Go down (south) to hit the top-left snowball. Then go right (east) from there smashing the last one in the way.
Now go all the way back to the entrance and walk in a straight line through the sets of central steps to reach Candice!

You'll find Candice incredible easy to beat if you have a strong Fire-type attacker like Infernape or Houndoom (although watch out for her Medicham which is not Ice-type and quite handy against both of those Pokémon if you don't one-shot it).
After this, you'll finally be able to use Rock Climb in the wild thanks to that Icicle Badge. Just one badge to go! Before that though, head back outside and over to Acuity Lakefront and Lake Acuity.
