Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Rito Village, Tabantha Tower, how to find Teba at the Flight Range

How to get started with Divine Beast Vah Medoh.

Zelda: Breath of the Wild's Rito Village should be your first port of call to completing Divine Beast Vah Medoh, the aerial beast that's in the far north west corner of the map.

This section explains the best way to travel there from the game's starting areas, unlocking new Towers as you go and how to start the Divine Beast Vah Medoh dungeon.

If you're after help for parts of the game, consult our Zelda: Breath of the Wild walkthrough and guide.

How to get to Rito Village

To reach Rito Village, we recommend heading up the road north west from the Great Plateau so you reach Outskirt Stable. If you haven't already, tame a horse and follow the path going north into the Ridgeland region. After a river, there is a bog to the north and the road splitting east and west.

We recommend going east while you're here to climb Ridgeland Tower to the north to flesh out the map - it's a tricky ascent with Electro Wizzrobes surrounding the base, but if you leap up the Tower fast enough you can evade them - and when you're ready, east round Hyrule Ridge to the Tabantha Bridge Stable.

If you look in the sky to the north, you'll see the Divine Beast in the air. Pretty neat, right? Let's head there.

Exploring round Tabantha Tower

Continue west, over Tabantha Great Bridge and into the Tabantha region, and dart past the flying Guardian Sentries on your horse. The road will take you more or less directly to this region's tower (Tabantha Tower).

The base of the Tower is surrounded by Calamity gunk, which you'll have no choice to climb up and through it, so make sure you have a good amount of health and some curing recipes on standby just in case.

The climb up may take a dent on your stamina, so an upgrade or two wouldn't hurt, either, and you may need some cold resistance at the top, too.

Once you've activated the tower, it's well worth flying south to get another Great Fairy Fountain. Whenever you're ready, continue taking the road going north east through to the town. You'll encounter a few interesting sights; a Stone Talus more or less east on the road from Tabanta Tower, something neat off the Kolami Bridge we won't spoil, and Rito Stable just before you hit Lake Totari and Rito Village.

Rito Village

As with every village, there are many side-quests and vendors to visit, except here they're all positioned on a walkway that spirals round a central rock.

Whenever you're ready, it all the way to the top, activating the Akh Va'quot shrine as a fast travel point, then visit the very last hut to chat to the village elder Kaneli.

Find Taba at the Flight Range

To find Teba, head to the hut next to the elder's and chat to his wife, Saki. You'll learn he went to the Flight Range, located within Dronoc's Pass at the base of the Hebra Mountains.

After the cutscene and another Memory unlocked, make sure you have two layers of cold resistance ready to go. The village's Brazen Beak clothing vendor sells a Snowquill Cold Resistance set, which don't come cheap so have a lot of Rupees at the ready, then when you're set, glide from a high point off to the north.

You'll see the Sha Warvo Shrine which is where you should aim for, so head there and create a fast travel point, and continue north a very short distance to the Flight Range, where you'll have a cutscene with Teba.

The aim here is to destroy five targets within three minutes. Despite his posturing, the task is frightfully easy. There are targets lining all across the walls and central column, so it's just a case of picking the ones you fancy and firing your arrows.

Remember to keep alternating between a stationary glide and aiming with your bow - which will slow down time to help with your accuracy. If you're struggling to land arrows, get close and / or aim a little above the target.

Once you're done, you'll be given a Falcon Bow and 20 Bomb Arrows, which you'll need to tackle the boarding process onto Vah Medoh dungeon. You'll have the chance to back away and prepare yourself, but when you're ready, chat to Taba and you'll fly up and get started.
