Famitsu again! Super Monkey Ball is on its way to Nintendo DS this December, having popped up in some Japanese games magazine we've never heard of honest this week. Feature | Sony PSP: The games to look forward to
What's going on your shopping list?
185,000 down, how many more to go? That's almost certainly a question the games are going to have to help answer. With the focus now switching to the months beyond launch, people want more things to show off on their shiny screens. What's more, where the launch titles may have been forgiven for the odd load delay (or the odd dozen of 30-second load delays), future games will have to do better. So what should we be looking forward to?

A PSP-free zone! A safe haven for the bored!
As you know, one of the most difficult things about being a games journalist is spending the vast amounts of money we save by not having to pay for our games. This is why many of us drive Ferraris, romance supermodels, sip Cristal champagne from the eye-sockets of the Venus de Milo and use gold-plated Shetland ponies as coffee tables.

£44.99 SRP for Xbox 360 titles
Actual, on-the-shelf prices of £39.99 minimum? Yikes!
It seems that £44.99 is the suggested retail price (SRP) for Xbox 360 games. Microsoft today confirmed that the standard edition of its forthcoming title Perfect Dark Zero will sport the higher-than-normal price tag - effectively signalling its intention to hike up game prices for the start of the next generation.

With weird-looking gadget.
Much as we love our shiny new PSP, we can't help feeling that something is missing - namely, a TV-out socket so you can watch UMDs, view photos and, hey, maybe even play games on the big screen.

Or Xmas 360, as the marketing folks will presumably have it.
Although Microsoft hasn't explicitly said so, it seems fair to infer that Perfect Dark Zero will be one of the Xbox 360's launch titles. We thought it would be anyway, but the matter seems more or less settled following this morning's official confirmation that the game will be on shelves in Europe "this Christmas" - which is as specific as the company's publicly been about the 360's release date.

About top PSP title Lumines.
Imagine if you could ask Tetsuya Mizuguchi anything, anything at all. Where the idea for Meteos came from, for example, or how he made Lumines so good it's like musical smack, or what he thinks of those Internet photos of that lady dressed up as Ulala that we can't link to here due to legal and probably ethical reasons?

Now is the winter of the malcontented. (And of exclusive shots.)
He may be the cape-wearing father of the City of Heroes, but Jack Emmert's actually rather evil. Asked to tell us about his favourite moments in Paragon City, he thinks for a bit and then his eyes twinkle. He was playing late one evening, he says, banded up with a handful of other players and doing alright - only for them to turn on him and try and boot him out. Clearly riled and seeking vengeance, he used his admin-level access privileges to summon an enormous monster to slay them all. "HA! HA! HOW DO YOU LIKE THAT!" Fortunately for the rest of us, he wasn't allowed to do it again - but you can imagine how much fun he's having with City of Villains.

Interview | Chairman of the Board
EA talks SSX On Tour, and why we shouldn't fear it.
We've never been snowboarding, but we love SSX. People would always tell us (usually loudly, usually with CAPITAL LETTERS, usually in ricin-tainted mailshots) that there's a reason for that, and that games like Amped were the choice of the real 'boarder. We'd even started to believe it, and thought perhaps even EA's Canadian development team felt the same way. Not so. "I just don't buy it," says associate producer Michael Wyman. "In terms of simply riding down the mountain I feel that SSX actually offers a more true-to-life experience than anything else out there."
