Super Mario Odyssey Pruple Teardrop locations - how to find Purple Teardrops

  • Kingdom: Lake Kingdom
  • Total Coins: 50

The Lake Kingdom is one of the smaller realms in Super Mario Odyssey, but it's still got a good 50 Regional Coins to collect across its watery ways. The coins in this region are teardrop shaped and can be easy to miss thanks to the many underwater sections and high platforms that make up Lake Lamode.

Remember, that any coins that you've already collected can be collected again, only this time they'll register as gold coins. The same principle applies to collecting Power Moons you've already acquired. From the Odyssey, turn left to collect your first three coins on a ledge.

On the left-hand side of the opening lake (in front of the Odyssey), look for a Zipper in the water. Throw Cappy at it and reveal a lopsided hole in the wall. Wall jump up and grab the three Regional Coins in this very sneaky hiding place.

There's also another cheeky hiding place in this area. On the right-hand side, use the flower bulb jump pad on the ledge and use it to spin float up to the ledge above. Post-game, there will be a Moon Rock up here. To the right of the Moon Rock, use Cappy to remove the three wooden stoppers and collect the three coins in the alcove.

We also have Purple Coin locations for each Kingdom, and if you want to know what to spend it on, we have a hats list, outfits list, stickers list, a souvenirs list as well as a music list to kit out the appearance of both Mario and the Odyssey. In the main lake area, head towards the far left-hand side and look for another alcove with three wooden stoppers. There are three coins behind them. To make life easier, possess a Cheep Cheep as these waters are deeper than they look and it's very easy to drown collecting these Regional Coins.

In this same area, swim up to the top of the bubble dome. On the far side of the glass column, you'll find another three coins just waiting to be added to your inventory. Ascend the glass column in question, from within, and emerge at the top of this area. Jump on the P Switch to lower the white gate, and the three Regional Coins above it.

On the right-hand side of this rooftop area, look for a Zipper and a square outline. To reach it, do a backflip and throw your cap at the height of your jump. Unzip the hole, and gorge on the four coins within. Now use the jump pad to reach the platform to your left, then the next pad to reach the four coins on this next ledge.

Jump down to the water below and collect the three coins floating in the water. Across the water, to the left of the entrance where you first entered the lake area, use the jump pad to reach the raised area with the Goomba infestation. Use this Goombas to make a large column, one large enough to reach the far platform and grab the Regional Coins waiting for you at the top.
