Super Mario Odyssey Purple Nut locations - how to find Purple Nuts

  • Kingdom: Wooded Kingdom
  • Total Coins: 100

The Wooded Kingdom is home to the Steam Gardeners, so no shock that the Regional Coins for this region are shaped like metal nuts. Since this kingdom is divided into distinct sections, much like Bowser's Kingdom, it's often very easy to lose track of where you are and where your next lot of coins might be. We've gathered together some of the easiest, and the most obscure - to make your life a whole lot easier.

Jump over the grassy wall behind the Odyssey and collect three coins behind the wall. Keep running up the wall as it climbs, and look out for three coins to your right over the gap. Throw Cappy to reach them.

Follow this wall until you reach an area with very tall trees and some Uproots. Possess one and use its stretch power to reach up and collect three coins floating in the middle of the air. Just make sure the other Uproot isn't nearby, or you'll lose a chunk of health while you're busy nabbing collectible currency.

Back in the woodland area you begin in, collect the three coins behind the Crazy Cap store. They're hidden when you pass them normally, but obvious from the other direction. There's also another three behind the tree to the right of the Odyssey. If you're playing after finishing the story, a couple of Volbonans will be nearby.

Collect two more coins above a fir tree just in front of the Sphynx (or the gap the Sphyx leaves). Run through this gap and collect the three coins on the ledge to your left. These collectibles are impossible to miss. You'll find two more of these coins to the right of you next to the running stream, as you enter the next area (with the checkpoint Iron Road: Entrance).

Need more help? Our Super Mario Odyssey guide and walkthrough goes through every objective in each Kingdom, while our Power Moon locations can help you track down the likes of Cascade Kingdom Power Moons, Sand Kingdom Power Moons, Metro Kingdom and New Donk City Power Moons and more collectables. We also have Purple Coin locations for each Kingdom, and if you want to know what to spend it on, we have a hats list, outfits list, stickers list, a souvenirs list as well as a music list to kit out the appearance of both Mario and the Odyssey. Once you've finished the game, check out the free Balloon World update, too.

Run up the stairs made of breakable boxes, then take the left hand path around the structure with the rising and falling platforms. Look over the ledge to your left and you'll see four more coins. Drop down to collect them, then run and jump across the breakable boxes. Now collect the three coins on the edge of the waterfall (climb the yellow pipe then run back down the river).

In the hidden maze, collect the four Regional Coins at the very top of the maze, just before you drop down and exit on the other side. Don't destroy all the grey blocks or you'll struggle to collect all four.

From the Summit Path checkpoint, collect the three coins on the edge of the ledge, drop down, take out the Sherm, then run behind the red wall and backflip up to reach its top. Run across and collect three more spinning coins.

Jump down into the area with the Goombas, and look on the bottom part of the right-hand wall. There should be a tiny, very hard to miss hole. Duck down and walk inside. You won't be able to collect the coins inside just by duck walking through them. Instead, you'll have to roll through them to actually pick them up.
